NKS 21/39/46

On 30 October 2024, NKS 21/39/46 titled exhibiton has opened in Eötvös10, Budapest. Adam Csaba Szabo’s sculpture from the collection of the studio was also showcased.

The International Ceramics Studio had a permanent exhibition space in Budapest until 2018 - in the Museion no 1. Gallery at the end of Üllöi út - which provided an important link to the capital. In the period since then, the focus on our ever-growing collection has become less and less, so this exhibition presents a selection of works from the last seven years, inspired by the rustic, raw brickwork and the special atmosphere of the E10 Basement Gallery, which is strongly reminiscent of the basement system used to house the Studio's collection. The title of the exhibition is difficult to understand at first glance, practically a code of letters and numbers.

NKS stands for International Studio of Ceramics. The numbers refer to the countries, artists and artworks in relation to the exhibition. 46 artworks from 21 countries and 39 artists are on display, the most exciting pieces from 2016 to 2023. One element of the exhibition concept was to present a selection of objects from the period after the closure of our gallery in Budapest, which most likely have not been seen by the public in the capital.

The exhibition was opened by Erika Sütö, director of the International Ceramics Studio, and by Piroska Novák, design theorist and museologist at the Museum of Applied Arts.
